Server Loads, Marketing and Web Hosting Realities, Part Three
Each web hosting company defines its own standard operating principles and best use guidelines. These are terms of use whose violation can legally spell eradication of the web hosting account. This might be due to spamming, unacceptable use , material of a poor taste or illegal nature, or domain hijacking. Notifications must be reported to multiple contacts to alert website owners regarding unacceptable use and potential account contamination.
Memory use violations alone can cause irreparable server space errors. If the backup for these accounts is the same server space for the web hosting company undergoing site or service failure, the website work could be lost.
Hosting Contracts
The technical contact should be able to outline and turn over the contact responsibilities while on vacation or in case of absence or prolonged other work. This is no “trophy post” but a contact who must serve in a 24/7 capacity. The accountability to the other project leads of the website is absolute. The written records of the web hosting company and their subsequent actions to the account are legal contracts.
