Our hosting plan usually has a minor role in the overall development of a site due to our plan and architecture building habits. But they had some appealing choices. Normally the hosting plan begins its price value ratio by restrictive limits on data storage, domain parking, forwarding, applications, and other hosting features. The gray area between the ranks was where our best hosting ideal plan was, but many of these options would be serviceable for a new website or hosting presence.

sthg. s strange
Website transfer brought me to this web host because one of our clients reported they had a transfer product that migrated to new hosting. Since many of my older websites have legacy accounts at older hosting companies, I am eager to move and consolidate these websites if possible. But the Control panel versions and some of the applications looked strange tome and I couldn't afford new training and evaluation in time.

Virtuozzo? power? panel
their landing page tells it all; very template based, generic web hosting offering that could be its own reseller hosting account under the tent flap; I am not sure what the Virtuozzo power panel is; pricing for virtual server plans was more inflated than I would have expected; Plesk and Debian might as well have their own IT staff for the use they'll accommodate; a mixed bag of hosting solution features across the board and not one of them the right fit for us.

looked sexy
a lot of features looked sexy when reviewing the options for new site; many of the options like shopping cart software, setups aren't needed at this hosting level; unlimited domains hosting means the registrar fees that can fluctuate, always a factor to watch over; free marketing credits are fairly standard with most upscale hosting accounts- but good to have them

VPS Server and co-location service is..
..very advanced for beginning users, yet plans starting as low as $3.95 a month are featured. That means distributed slices of accounts on various virtual servers. The waived pricing for the setup fees is a really substantive misrepresentation of value to con summers, as hardly anyone needs help setting up a website at this level of website administrator anymore.

Sooo many features
I chose the PersonalLogic Plan at this web hosting. This plan had way more features than I could ever use and enough memory and data storage to last me well beyond the current time. I liked the choices available that made me think ahead to the future. If I need to make my web launch or web presence bigger, it helps to have a hostingplan that can grow with you.

sorry guys, not enough
The site builder feature is very good for the intended beginning hosting customer, but no Fantastico and no third party list down of applications leaves me still shopping.

No Linux??
I did not see Linux featured or supported products. A Windows only shop.

The pricing presumes 2 year billing in advance. That is ambitious forecasting in the web world.

USER AGREEMENT=TRAP
I was about to sign up with StartLogic [SL] for a two-year term [unlimited transfer etc for $3.95/mo/24months]. However, I decided to read their USER AGREEMENT first. It is a legal trap protecting totally SL. For example, if the user wants to terminate for any reason, the user has to give 30 days notice AND pay $50 cancellation fee. In my case, if I signed up with them I would pay upfront about $100. If at the end of 23 months, I decide not to continue, I have give 30 days notice AND pay $50. If I decide to terminate early, say in 3 months, then besides $50 cancellation fee, they change the calculations to include setup fee, rate to regular rate, etc. In any case you have to pay them harshly in order to get rid of them. Further, Dot5Hosting, and iPower’s user agreements are word-to-word the same. They all are listed together on “topcheaphosts.com” web site. They look like a gang to me. I wonder how they really treat their customers?
