Marking the progress of our hosting enterprise was slow. 1 & 1 Web Hosting was an OK way to go but I wouldn't write home about it. In a similar vein, we found many of the applications only so-so. Email functionality was good and the downtime was low. Not best of breed, but hardly at the low end of hosting providers overall.

Most Competitive Web Host

They met my cost benefit analysis for hosting expenses. My security needs and the technical staff's recommendations needed a robust solution. The change from our previous hosting company to the lock and load tools of 1 & 1 excited my team. The challenge of new applications and the most competitive architectures was in our hands again.

[no title]

Their offering served some of my needs but I had a lot of work to do to get ramped up with the data storage and new database conversion. There was a lot to like in the third party offering but yet a lot of it that looked flashy and fun didn't suit our needs.

Awful billing practices ... support is worse!

1&1's hosting is OK at best. I have no real complaints, but no real kudos either. It worked. The setup and management system was pretty cumbersome. But woe unto the 1&1 customer with ANY kind of billing issue. They lie, and customer service does nothing to help you. 1&1 s a cut rate budget host. If you can handle all of what that entails, I guess they're OK. If you want quality or actual decent response times to billing and other customer-service problems, avoid them. There are FAR better hosts out there who actually care about their customers, who aren't sneaky, and who will take care of problems.

Exceeded all Expectations

Organizing a new website takes time and planning, but the most important element is a reliable, secure web hosting company. 1 & 1 Web Hosting met my needs with room to spare. The change from my previous hosting included making prominent features like security monetary transactions and other utilities coexistent with sprightly speeds and friendly customer service. 1 & 1 Internet Web Hosting is my pick.

Good for most user. Lack features.

1&1 is a pretty good hosting company for user who do not need much features. Their servers are up all the time and their customer service is decent. I don't like the way they set up ftp names (using a automatically generated code that I can never remember). They lack some important stuff, like the ability of generating error reports. They are a little pricey compared to others. Their customized stats viewer is horrible! and they do not offer awstats. Their control panel is poor. I can't say much about their performance before changing hostings.

Avoid 1&1.

Avoid 1and1. They roped me in to a 3 year contract without my knowledge. I was a week late baying a $7 domain fee because I had lost and cancelled my ATM card. So they immediately pulled my site offline, with only one email which did not have a clear subject line. They then had the gall to charge me a $18 “late fee” because my $7 was three weeks late. So I go to cancel my account, and they tell me it will need a $99 cancellation fee. Just to check, I went back to fill out the forms to start a new hosting service, just as had done originally. NOWHERE could I see ANYTHING about a contract. I did not agree to this and don't know how they are claiming I have one. These people are sleazy. You can do way better. Avoid them like the plague.

Grasp this opportunity!

They had a beautiful website that inspired me. The domains and hosting plans were enough to keep me busy but there was more to do. The Ecommerce and mail exchange programs kept me competitive. I needed Microsoft compatibility and they had it. The reliability of the servers was exceptional. The Linux option made us think in new directions with those application possibilities. The Team MS Sharepoint was a great option.

Super priced domains, free privacy! 1&1 is A+++++

So many hosts and domain sellers tempt you with special offer domain name pricing, only to screw you in year 2. While 1&1 does often have domain specials, their regular rate ($8.99) is great and the free privacy they offer is something other companies charge up to $10 per domain for! 1&1's domain management interface is not setup for bulk domainers, but something tells me these are not 1&1's target audience anyway. BTW - you can host unlimited domains in your hosting plan, and all hosting plans have free domains included (for the life of that plan.) Just remember that domains are set to autorenew automatically, unles you change this setting. Don't forget or get lazy and let your billing information expire or go bad. Ignore nasty postings and try 1and1 for yourself.

I am a big foan of 1&1. I have had my site and domains with them for a long time. Good prices, good features, not had any problems myself that their support couldn't answer. Nice to see you have a good page anout 1and1. Kate wwww.outspoken-kate.com
