depend on your focus
The Windows based and software enabled hosting was an incentive to use this hosting provider. The Fall special of unlimited bandwidth and unlimited space as a deal that couldn't be beat. But unless you need to use all those bells and whistles, the offering becomes the same as the best competitors. Lunarpages did impress me, but seemed more focused on reseller business and shared hosting.

The gap between the basic hosting plan and the business hosting plan at Lunarpages was a steep gulf. These plans should have had a transition tier of hosting between them. Fantastico is a good accessory but only if there is robustness to support all those dedicated addresses. The quicksite hosting should have been the middle hosting plan, but somehow got ported to being a site based plan, which derailed the focus of the baby plan with unlimited data storage and data transfer. LP Quicksite needs tweaking.

Lunarpages Web Host
The reseller hosting appears laughably cheap next to the huge amounts monthly paid for Windows Virtual Private Servers. The dedicated hosting seems underpriced and may underperform after installation would be my worry. The Windows software and training free offer means if you want the new software capabilities every design and keystroke is hinging your company on a buy decision that will cost you money to move back in time. The quote procedure for customized packages seems a little hokey.

Easy & good handling
This was an awesome web hosting solution for me. I wanted to get some content online quick and easy, and was hoping to avoid some of the hassles many of my colleagues had discussed launching their websites. Lunarpages had a fun, no hassle presentation and I felt comfortable getting my website up yet not feeling overly regimented. I would recommend them to anyone looking to find good fast hosting with a problem free install.

The landing page is flashy but dedicated server management is a lot of work. This reads a lot like hardware rental and physical security and goes less to the programming results.

I get that security and redundancy are major concerns for Lunarpages customers. But sheer rackspace rental for everyday enterprise launching takes a lot of elbow grease and willpower. For this cost and at this level of programming, a dedicated sever inside a virtualized application smorgasbord at a less “global” solution might be better. If I am a global company looking for a North American hub, this is the place. But for first domain websites and startups, this is a premium product in a marketplace that can deliver a lot of value and more for lesser money elsewhere.

Impressive
Linux and Windows hosting available, nice price drop and an intriguing business value plan. Quad & Dual Core processors and nice plan variety. Dedicated servers. I was very impressed to note their data hotel was in One Wilshire at the Metro LA National backbone pop in downtown Los Angeles and in Las Vegas too.

The rush for dedicated hosting simply may not be right at any price for some companies. At this level, serious credentials are going to be needed to bring value back from the monthly hosting investment cost.

Nice co lo
It’s a nice co lo offering but at this level maintaining high priced sever racks inside co location facilities means you are looking at integrated virtualization remotely. As back this is all very well and good. As a main access terminal, not too sure about that.
